"The Natural Way to a Healthy Life"

My Studio...

Hurricane Rita destroyed my original spa and school beyond repair. We pulled up our boot straps and moved to a newer, stronger building where we nearly killed ourselves trying to recover. Not yet firmly recovered, Hurricane Ike took a direct aim at us and left us with some hard decisions. We were forced to close the school and the 3500 square foot spa.

Blessings! This move placed me back in my original private studio located in my home. This is where my heart longed to be throughout the very tough 7 years of owning/running a massage school AND full spa. Running the business pulled me away from my passion of working with clients. I was physically, mentally, and spiritually drained. Working in my private studio has refilled me and I am healthy again so that I help you in your journey for health. Gratitude to all who have supported me in this move.

OK. So my studio is in my home...

Questions that I have had lead me to this response. I have a private room that is professionally set up and elegantly decorated. All equiment such as postural analysis charts, wedges, bolsters, tools, reference materials and product supplies are all on hand. A very nice restroom with a shower is available to all clients without trapsing through my residence. I am a computer geek so all files are kept confidential and are digitally stored to avoid killing trees and cluttering my work space. I maintain a professional accounting system and track securely all gift certificate sales. I am both an office professional and a professional therapist.

Professional Massage Therapist

I have been a licensed therapist since 1999. My goals to learn a variety of beneficial therapies have led me down many wonderful and challenging career paths. I have continually learned from my continuing education instructors, my clients and my students, as well as self led studies. My many pursutes for knowledge and education have equipped me with a variety of "tools" and a well rounded thinking process to work with clints who need a varied accompaniment of modalities. One size rarely fits all.

When the state requirement to license as a massage therapist was only 300 hours, I reccognized the need for additional training. Massage Therapy can profoundly affect the health and lives of people and we are regulated through the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) for that reason. However, 300 hours unfortunately left many therapists with just enough information to be less effective than possible or dangerous. Where this is obviously not the case in all situations, it certainly is a concern. By 2004 my educational training had exceeded 1200 hours and I took and passed the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodyworks (NCBTMB). This and other credentials are outward signs of my commitment to the profession and the wellness of my clients.

Where my training is primarily Neuromuscular and Myofascial Release Therapy, I love the spa and ayervedic therapies. My latest studies are focused on non-western therapies and I hope to quickly have Shiatsu and Tai Massage available to the public. I will post these therapies when I am convinced that I offer therapeutic quality, not just a fun service. Stay in touch...
