About Us

Barbara G. White, LMT, MTI, NCTMB

Barbara has been a licensed Massage Therapist since 1999 and has pursued continuing education along many paths including Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release and Spa therapies. Her practice primarily centers on Neuromuscular and therapeutic therapies for chronic pain and structural imbalances. Prior to her massage studies, Barbara earned a college degree concentrated in Mathematics and Business. She taught at Tallahassee Community College in Florida and has managed two other small businesses.

In 2002 Barbara founded Academy for the Healing Arts, a massage school in Southeast Texas. The school was closed due to 5 hurricanes in 3 years. She now enjoys teaching for Louisiana Institute of Massage Therapy, in Lake Charles, LA.

Barbara has worked a clinical practice with several doctors’ in Texas and has demonstrated a passion and aptitude for therapeutic bodywork.

Her unique teaching style facilitates the learning and understanding of the materials and theory necessary to achieve excellence in the Massage Therapy and Bodywork fields.

Through these varied experiences, she is able to offer exceptional professionalism and training in all fields of study. Her belief in the power of bodywork as a tool for healing, wellness, and change is reflected in her teaching and clinical practice.

Ronald White, B.M., M.M., LMT, MTI

Ron is a graduate of Academy for the Healing Arts. He joined AHAMB in January of 2004 as Co-Director with an extensive background in education, with many years of public education experience and a good working knowledge of classroom management skills.

Ron has been a High School and Junior High School Band Director in Texas 1993. He is currently the Band Director at St. Anne Catholic School and Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School in Beaumont, TX.

He has been a Graduate Assistant at Florida State University for 2 years and was the assistant director for the Florida State University Symphony, Florida State Opera, and Director of the Florida Chamber Orchestra.

Ron has also operated his own music business since 1987, and currently plays Clarinet in the Symphony of Southeast Texas, in Beaumont. Ron offers an expertise in computers, marketing and operations, and is a natural leader.
